![]() It is open to graduate and undergraduate students. GMaWiP is a group for the support and promotion of women and gender minorities in physics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Gender Minorities and Women in Physics (GMaWiP) The Club organizes free tutoring hours where members help any university student distributes information about graduate studies, research jobs, and other opportunities to our members maintains computers, a study area, a small library of scientific books, and a refrigerator for our members and other physics students and organizes social events, tours, and trips. The Physics Club is open to all undergraduate students interested in Physics you need not be a Physics major. Taking Physics 301 Spring of your 2nd year is a good way to meet more faculty and find out what they’re doing. Talk with an advisor and students in the physics club to learn how to go about finding a research position. You can also find more about other research in and around the department. Below is a list of faculty and staff that hire undergraduate students to work in laboratories and/or do theoretical calculations. So start early! Some groups only hire first & second year students. But most important, it is the best way to find out what you really like about doing physics, something you don’t necessarily get from classes. To teach physics in high school, you will also take education courses to become certified. Provide part of the preparation you need to teach physics.This training can be useful in some areas of business administration, law, or other fields where a basic knowledge of science is useful.
